Since each thermoplastic material preheater requires a 55kW oil burner, it is challenging to be convincing about sustainability in the road marking business.
But is there something we can do as machine builder if thermoplastic material continues to be the dominating road marking material?
At Trysil RMM we have launched some variants of our product range that in our opinion qualifies as sustainable:
Social sustainability – Trafficprinter
The single-operator Trafficprinter eliminates the need for boots-on-the-ground workers, reducing worksite accidents.
This innovative technology is a one-of-a-kind machine that is designed to save lives and revolutionize road marking.

Environmental sustainability – City Truck
Trysil RMM delivered a City Truck to Ze Bra in 2023. The oil burners are replaced with gas burners, and the truck is a PHEV Scania. In job mode the truck and body are fully electric (except the gas burners).

Trysil RMM delivered the first sustainable City Truck to Vegmerking Vest in 2024, and the second one in 2025. Earlier three similar truck bodies were delivered to Svevia in Sweden.
The sustainable portion is the solar powered battery pack that enables the road marking workers to turn off the truck’s engine in job mode.

Finally, Trysil RMM is building a City Truck to Saferoad Services on its first fully electric Volvo FME. You will see it on the streets of Oslo this summer😊

Altogether we have taken some steps towards a sustainable future in our small but important part of road safety.
